Heartburn occurs when acid from your stomach backs up into the esophagus. Causes include large meals, caffeine, smoking, chocolate, peppermint, alcohol and fatty foods. Also lying down right after eating can trigger it. If it is recurrent, you can try pepcid, which is available over the counter. As for beans, that might just be what irritates you and causes heartburn.

hi,
welcome to hcm
thanks for the query
the heart burn is mainly due to reflux of the gastric contents into the esophagus which irritates the mucosa
so to avoid it take small and frequent meals.take good amount of water
take more amount of fruits and vegetables in diet
avoid alcohol, smoking and spicy food. avoid stress. take proper sleep.avoid tea and coffee. beans not digested easily. so it may cause acidity
if your symptoms get worsening you can take some antacids
if after all these there is no relief you consult your physician . there may be possibility of hiatus hernia
take care
