What Causes Hair Loss And Memory Loss When On BP Medication?
I stated losing my hair back in 2004 or 5 but not a substantial amount. Then in 2006, I was placed on High Blood Pressure medication...I can t remember the name...In 2012 or 2013, I was placed on another High Blood Pressure medication, amlodipine 5mg and hydrochlorothiazide 25mg...Which has stabalized my High Blood Pressure; however, I noticed more substantial hairloss and some memory loss. Should I ask my doctor to prescribe another blood pressure medication even though this one works? hould I see a dermatologist and endocrinologist?

I have read your query and i have understood your concern. Since the hair loss has begun just 2-3 years ago, let us not assume the medication to be the cause. I guess, you had been under the medication for some time before that also. Please correct me if am wrong.
Side effects of the drug can cause hair loss, but it is uncommon about 1 in 1000 people taking Amlodipine. In my opinion, it cannot affect your memory.
My suggestion is to keep continuing the medication for high pressure, meanwhile you can consult a dermatologist to bring hair loss under control. Please do not forget to mention about the current medication.
