Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that his symptoms could be related to epilepsy seizures.

Some types of epilepsy seizures (like complex partial seizures) can begin with epigastric aura, which is often experienced as nausea or stomach ache.

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical check up and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- a chest X ray study
- a brain CT scan
- an EEG
- some blood work (complete blood count, fasting glucose, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes, PCR, sedimentation rate).

You should discuss with his doctor on the above issues!

Kind regards, Dr. Aida
