What Causes Seizures In A 19 Year Old?

My 19 year old daughter was diagnosed with Lowness Ganong Levine Syndrome last night at the ER after she fainted and had a seizure. She is very anxious and scared that there will be another episode and her pulse rate is abnormal. Should she go back to a heart hospital?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

In case she had a seizure, it's important to diagnose the disorder. We need MRI BRAIN scan and EEG to find out the cause. Please tell her to avoid stress, take proper sleep, avoid driving and swimming in case she does. Hospital visit us certainly required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Cardiologist Dr. Ilir Sharka's  Response
Hello,

This is a heart condition and the seizures is related to cardiac arrhythmia. That is why I recommend consulting with a cardiologist for a physical exam, a cardiac ultrasound and an electrophysiological heart study. A cardiac MRI may be needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
