I am 44, female. No real health issues. abt a month ago I noticed pressure in right ear, occasional sharp pain, nothing constant. Almost feels swollen on inside. I also have numbness on right side of tongue, and everything I eat has a chemical taste?? What could this be?
As per your query you are suffering from ear pressure and numbness on tongue , Sometimes upper respiratory track infection ,when left untreated spread to ear through eustachian tube and infect ear , which can cause pain and pressure in ear . Numbness on tongue and chemical taste in mouth can occur due to nerve dysfunction or infection . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like throat swab test , viral culture test or blood tests . Doctor may examine with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin ) along with anti inflammatory . If numbness or chemical test doesn't improve then consult neurologist .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
