Hello, and i hope i can help you today.
Smoking has many negative effects on the body including raising the
heart rate and blood pressure, raising carbon monoxide levels and decreasing
oxygen levels, and making breathing less effective in letting toxins like CO2 out of your body. Some people also experience
intestinal cramps and/or
nausea. So it is surprising more people do not feel sick from smoking.
Having any type of surgical procedure makes you lose blood, and puts your body under additional stress so your body needs more oxygen than it normally does. So because smoking deprives you of oxygen and speeds up your heart rate, it would not be surprising that you would feel more dizzy, and the cramping is likely another side effect.
The simplest advice I can give for now and in general- is that it would be best for you and make you feel better if you didn't smoke. If smoking makes you feel sick, it may be a good time to try to stop. It is also important to get enough rest, eat nutritious and protein-rich foods, and drink lots of water to avoid
dehydration. Whether it is a lack of oxygen, carbon monoxide buildup, or the
nicotine itself, you will feel better and recover faster the less that you smoke.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
