What Causes Difficulty In Breathing Through The Nose?

I have had fess and septoplasty a week ago and I have been washing sinuses with saline water. Now i still cannot breathe through nose and noticed White hard wet cotton like stuff in both nostrils. I have tried removing one and managed to remove some part, what is this White stuff

Hi,

Noted your short history of undergoing FESS and Septoplasty a week ago, washing nose with saline water, unable to breathe through nose, has hard white cotton like stuff in nostrils, tried to remove and successful in removing partially.
The commonest causes I can think about as follows:
- The packing material comes in various forms like ribbon gauze and others in absorbable forms.
- Scab formation.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Consult your ENT Surgeon to be sure what the problem is.
If this is due to swab or scab then he will remove it if necessary or may advise otherwise.
- Some absorbable packs take time to get absorbed.
- Do not try anything at home.
- Continue medicines as advised.
