What Causes Delay In Periods After Having Unprotected Sex Followed By Logynon Pills?

Hi doctor, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex the other day and I was unable to get the emergency pill, so I took 10 of the yellow logynon pills from my mum, my period is 7 days late, I took the pills 3 days after the sex. Am I pregnant or is my period just irregular?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

The first thing which is required for this condition is exclusion of pregnancy by doing a urine pregnancy test. Ultrasound examination may be required.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
