What Causes Cramp With Bleeding After Medical Abortion?

i just had a medical abortion on Dec. 2. After a week and a half I started to cramp severaly. all the sudden I start ed gushing blood clots. It was coming out in large chunks where it looked like almost jelly. I filled 5 pads in a half an hour to an hour. When i pretty much stopped with the severe cramps I could of filled a quart bottle. 32 oz. should I be worried/

Hi,
From your notes it appears that you did not abort completely on December 2.

The severe bleeding you had is most probably caused due to pregnancy remnants. You probably have passed the pregnancy remnants out along with blood clots. It is important to confirm that abortion process is complete. Therefore visit your doctor and get an ultrasound of uterus done.

If the abortion process is not complete, based on the size of the remnant, your doctor may allow for spontaneous expulsion, repeat medications or advise surgery (D&C).
