What Causes Cramp In Hands During Pregnancy?

Is it common to have hand cramps/contractures during pregnancy? What could be wrong? I am 22 weeks gestation with my first pregnancy. Healthy 27 year old, 140 lbs (current wt), 5'4". Everytime I shake someone's hand, open a drawer, wring out a cloth, etc, my hand cramps and I cannot open it for several seconds. Is this normal?

Hi,

Welcome to healthcare magic. I have read your question.

I would like to reply as below:

1) This might be due to calcium deficiency.

2) Please take calcium tablets prescribed from your doctor and see if it makes difference.

If you have any further queries, let me know so that I can help you much better.

Wish you good health.
