Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a tendency to get constipated so I sometimes have bright red blood with a hard bowel movement. I had hemorrhoids after both of my children were born- the 2nd 17 years ago. I am now 45 years old. Recently I have had a fishy odor to start but which now smells faintly like fecal matter from my vaginal area with no other vaginal symptoms nor discharge. I am worried that I have colon cancer.
As you mentioned you have problem of constipation that may be because of lack of high fiber foods or water intake in diet or lack of gastric motility or intestinal condition or Thyroid problem or other reasons. Consult a gastroenterologist for further diagnosis. Ultrasonograph can done for further diagnosis. Detail history and investigation give exact idea about problems. Bulk forming agent like psyllium is helpful in constipation problem.
Thank you.
