What Causes Cloudy Urine With Blood Specks ?

I have slightly cloudy urine with white specks in it. No dysuria. Did a dip at my office (I'm a FM doc too) and just showed blood and ketones. Think the blood is from ending menstruation though. No Leuks or nitrite. What could this be? I only noticed as I am using a clear cup to urinate in for OPT- so not sure how long this has been going on.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Seems asymptomatic urinary infection with or without diabetes. Cloudiness is owing to possible protein or yeast cells/epithelial cells shaded from the bladder wall. Needs confirmation at laboratory in a sterile container with morning void and supportive work-up of complete blood counts, serum creatinine, acetone levels, and ultrasound KUB in selected cases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
