I am a 23 year old male, just graduated from college and headed to work in the next week or so. I used to be very active and exercised 4 or 5 times a week up until this last semester in college when I had to put all my spare time into studying and getting ready to graduate. Recently I have noticed some chest pain on the left side of my chest, under my pectoral muscle. At first I thought it was just a side effect of having stopped smoking 7 months ago (i had smoked for a year and a half previous to that) or maybe even a symptom of anxiety about graduating, moving and starting work. With that said, I went to a general physician a few days ago to get checked up on as I had not been to a doctor in about 5 years. They took an EKG test and x-rays and found nothing, and they also took some blood to run some tests (i am still waiting to hear the test results). So, today I woke up and started moving some things around in my apartment and noticed that that particular area of my chest is sensitive to the touch, almost like a bruise of some sort. However, there is no sign of bruising or anything like that. that I can tell and the area is so close to my rib cage that i cant really tell if there is a lump in the area either. When I went to the doctor a few days ago, they did not poke around my chest to see if i had some type of swelling or bruising of any sort and I am wondering if I should go somewhere else to get them to check it out. It doesnt feel like anything serious, more annoying than anything else and I am just curious if I should mention this to my doctor when she calls to give me back my blood test results. Right now I am taking some ibuprofen as I was told the soreness in my chest was probably just some type of muscle inflammation of some sort (which was kinda weird to hear seeing as I have not been to the gym since last November and have no recollection of ever hitting my chest up against anything or pulling a muscle)
