What Causes Breathing Problems With Flu And Sore Throat?

My 10 year old daughter has some problems breathing lately. She had a bad flu and a sore throat. Even after medication she hasn't stopped breathing normally. We are thinking she has adenoids since her Dr said she had them before. Will she need to have them removed or will she start breathing normally again sometime.

Hi, adenoidectomy is done when the adenoids are so large that there is difficulty in breathing, difficulty in swallowing. As the child grows more than 8 years the size of adenoids starts to decrease by itself. In your case, i think you first need to complete full course of antibiotics and then decide as during infection the symptoms increase due to inflammation of adjoining area. Take care.
