What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Chest Pressure With Habit Of Smoking Marijuana?

I was a long term smoker of Marijuana with no problems, more then 10+ year. Then one day I took a big hit and my upper chest felt like it wasn't getting air and tightened up and went into a panic and felt like I was twitching and my arms went numb. I call 911 and did tests they said nothing was wrong. Then the next morning it felt like I was sick I woke up with my pillow wet and my lower back hurting and I can never get a deep breath and it would feel like I was suffocating and had to yawn to force air in to feel like I was getting air. I get pains in my lower back and the sides of my chest. It feels like someone sitting on my chest and sometimes I wake up needing to take a deep breath and then I panic cause it feels like I can't breath.. I also have like a acid reflux feeling in the morning and diarrhea..

Dear friend,

I understant that you were checked out physically and were given a clean bill of health; nevertheless these symptoms continue.

Perhaps the marijuana you used was a stronger variety than you were used to. There are other agents in this plant besides THC that can affect you, and they vary from variety to variety

It also sounds as if you may have been having panic attacks because of some underlying anxiety or stress in your life at present.

I sugget that you lay off the marijuana for awhile and see if these attacks are no longer triggered. If you have developed panic disorder you may want to talk to your physician or a psychiatrist about it, or talk to a psychotherapist if you feel you have underlying stressors that you cannot cope with on your own.

I wish you peace of mind and good health.

Warm regards,

Elliott
