What Causes Blocked Feeling In Throat And Blood In Vomit?
My father was diagnosed with throat cancer 7 years ago and this week has a feeling of something stuck in his throat, he was admitted to the hospital today they said it s some sort of veil in his throat but he s bleeding when he vomits he scheduled for an upper GI this morning but they didnt do it.

Hi,
Hemetemesis meaning blood in vomitus can be due to esophageal varices or gastritis and dudenitis.
- Hemoptysis meaning blood while coughing.
- Since your Father was diagnosed throat cancer 7 years ago means he is a cancer survivor.
- The cause can be local inflammation or so and needs a proper evaluation by Upper GI Endoscopy.
- Laryngoscopy also needs to be done.
- Relevant tests of blood and urine.
- X-ray of chest and CT scan of if needed.
- Ultrasound of abdomen for any varices.
- Symptomatic and supportive treatment.
Further management will be as per the cause found and can be treated medically and/or surgically as the condition may be.
