I am 54 years old and have been going through menopause for the last year and a half. For about 3 months now I have starting having a odor that comes and goes and it is about to drive me crazy. It s not an armpit odor or a vaginal odor. I sweat all the time but it;s just a weird smell, a smell that I ve never smelled before. Could this be coming from me going through menopause? Lorraine
Hi, I really appreciate your concern about the situation. As a physician I would like to comfort you that the odor you are having is natural byproduct of your Menopause.
Due to Menopause there are changes going on in your body including Hormonal changes which also affects your body's sweat production and sweat in turn will lead to Odor.
I would like to suggest that you take shower with lukewarm or cold water avoid hot showers or conditions producing excessive amount of sweating. Also avoid following things : 1.Alcohol. 2.Tobbaco 3.Caffeine 4.Stress 5.Garlic &Onions 6.Spicy foods
I want to comfort you that it is just a phase through which everyone goes and it will get over. So you need not to worry. Hope I have answered your question. Feel fee to ask any further question. Have a nice day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
