What Causes Abdominal Pain, vomiting And Bloating After A Chemotherapy?

Hello, my wife had a total gastrectomy in August 2013. After the surgery she was taking hydromorphone - she was able to eat anything, her stool was normal. During her chemo/radiation in November she discontinued Hydromorphone and was experiencing diarrhea due to chemo/radiation. Since the beginning of January she suffers from abdominal pain, vomiting (mostly froth), feels gas bubbles traveling up her esophagus, loose diarrhea 1x daily. She takes Gas X and bentylol, but they bring only minimal relief. She keeps loosing weight.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Total gatrectomy means the whole stomach is removed hence the normal functioning of stomach is not present.
On the top, the radiation and chemotherapy has its own side effects as manifested by the symptoms you have mentioned.
PPI will not help much as there is no stomach.
With the natural healing the symptoms will improve.
Adjustment of foods and beverages would help.
Go for stool tests for three days to see if there is any infection.
Tests of blood for CBC and all other parameters like liver, kidney, thyroid functions.
Additional treatment as per the symptoms and lab reports will help symptomatically.
