What Causes Abdominal Cramps And Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy?

I am 10 weeks pregnant today. For the last week I have been bleeding on and off, sometimes bright red sometimes brown. It all started after intercourse with my husband. Almost a week later I am bleeding heavier then I was after the intercourse. I am not experiencing any pain right now but I have had periods of mild abdominal cramping. I have also noticed in the last 24 hours that I have had some blood clots. I just took another home pregnancy test to see if it was positive and it was. Am I at a high risk for a miscarriage? can I have a positive pregnancy test and still be miscarrying? I feel like going to the emergency room but I know they are not able to do anything for me this time of night.

Hi,

Yes it is possible that you have miscarried already or are in the process of it.
The urine pregnancy test remains positive for upto 3 weeks after the miscarriage so it could be misleading.
You require an urgent ultrasound and Beta HCG levels in blood.
Please get them immediately. And see a gynaecologist

Hope this helps.
Regards.
