What Causes A Raised Rash On Thighs?

My grandaughter has a spot (like a rash) on her inner thigh that looks just like a button - raised spot with 2 dots in the middle. They seem too far apart to be from a spider bite (unless it was a BIG spider, which we don t have here in Montana). Any ideas?

Hi,

This sounds like an insect bite, however without seeing it a skin condition is almost impossible to diagnose. You may send detailed photos, that may help. If she has no further symptoms careful waiting and a 1%-OTC hydrocortisone cream might help. Should there be other symptoms like chills, fever etc., please take her to a local GP or ER asap.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
