hi thanks for writing to us
genetic and chromosomal causes can be cause of blighted ovum
but it is not the single reason
in most cases reason is not known
normally if there are three recurrent miscarriages investigations are done
is there any family history of chromosomal or genetic diseases that could be a cause
general evaluation of blood group with rh typing, blood glucose, thyroid function test, complete blood count may be needed
screening for infections may also be a need
hope this information was useful
