What Can I Do To Decrease Vaginal Itching And Urethritis?

I had an IUD put in 10 days ago. I was tested then for the full array of STDs and the tests were negative. I was fine, until I had sex a week later (with my long-term monogamous partner). Immediately after, I developed vulva itchiness and urethritis. The urethritis did not clear up with a dose of azithromycin. However, I have no bladder symptoms. Just a very painful urethra tip. What do I do?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,

I suggest that you should increase your water intake. In addition, get a urine test done to rule out a urinary tract infection and see a local gynecologist for an examination of the affected area to find out exact cause of your symptoms and to get specific treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kulsoom Qureshi, OBGYN
