What Causes Urethritis?

Thanks. I was just reading about chlorinated swimming pools and urethritis. I saw a urologist this wk and had a CT abd today. He thinks I may have a kidney stone. I m a 54 y/o menapausal female RN married x30 yrs. I am thinking it may be the gym pool along with a lower estrogen level. I forgot to tell him I am going to water exercise 3x/wk.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your anxiety.
Yes,chemical urethritis in chlorinated pools is well known.
You should get urine routine and culture test done, to rule out an infection.
A kidney stone is easily diagnosed on a CT scan, without any doubt.
If the urethritis is causing severe pain, you may stop swimming for a while.
If you've any doubts,send it to me,as a direct question,with reports.
