What Are The Side Effects Of Sleeping Pills?

Hi my dad took 2 sleeping pills about 20 minutes ago. And he has been dozing off and on. He is incoherent and has a horrible fever. He has had a cold for a couple of days but for the past two nights in his sleep he has been wheezing very badly and will wake up for about a minute and will talk almost like he is sleep talking and then will go back to sleep. is this a sign of an overdose or what is going on with him?

Hello,

I’m worried that your father has an infection because you say he has a fever, wheezing and had a cold before. The cold might have progressed to something more serious in his respiratory tract. You should bring him to a doctor so they can listen to his chest/lungs and examine him and make sure example does not have bad bronchitis or a pneumonia.

With regard to the sleeping pill. If he took a double dose it can certainly be to much medication and cause him to be confused and “sleepwalk”. It should eventually clear from his system and he should be OK. Of notebis bát infections can cause confusion in order adults as well. Adults over the age of 65 in general should not take sleeping pills because there is a higher risk of side effects after age 65.

Good luck. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
