Hello
Istamet is sitagliptine 50 mg +metformine 500 mg as these both are most potent antidiabetic drugs and used for type II .
Nausea, headache , diarrhea, hypoglycemia, angioedema are most common side effects of sitagliptine .
Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, flatulence , G I discomfort diarrhea abdominal distension , hypoglycemia , indigestion are most common side effects of metformin.
As you mentioned that you are having bloating of stomach, bowels irregular movements, abdominal discomfort as all these symptoms may be due to the side effects of ISTAMET .
But , if your diabetes is under control , take this drug as advised by your diabetologist .
Because diabetes is more dangerous and these symptoms will subsides within few months .
Hope this will help you.
However, when my patient feel such type of symptoms I prescribe them to take pantoprazole-D once or twice in day 2 hours before or after your istamet tablet .
I find this answer helpful
