What Are The Risks Involved In Breast Augmentation Surgery?

I was diagnosed with benign joint hypermobility syndrome in Jan 2013. The doctor wrote me a note to say it was linked to EDS-H or EDS Hypermobility type 3. I am wanting to have plastic surgery more specifically breast enlargement. If you google eds and breast enlargement the page fills with horror stories of stretching skin, moving implants, horrible scarring, scars not healing, skin ripping! I am unable to find a happy ending story, but within all of them it doesn t specify which type of EDS they have. Is it the same for every sufferer or does it differ for each person/type? I am 30 years old and healthy, I have had a child and experienced no problems before or after apart from early labour, my stitches healed fine, my tummy sprang back and my stretch marks have long gone. I obviously do not want to undergo surgery if I will encounter problems after or I am at a high risk of issues. If you can help or point in the direction of where I can get my answers I would much appreciate it. Karla Scott

Hi,

Much of the risks are involved with breast augmentation surgery, like embolism can occur. Hence, the surgery will require a good hospital.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
