What Are The Precautions She Has To Take And Is That Contagious ?
Hi doctor, my mother got TB gland on her neck the few days back she started taking the medicines for that. What are the precautions she has to take and is that contagious ? Please clarify my doubts

Hi,
It can be contagious till she finishes her course and proves negative. Let her use a mask that would be sufficient, do not allow small children near her. Otherwise, she can do her routine work.

Hello,
TB lymphadenitis is what she has.Its a lump in her neck that is usuaully painless.Proper TB treatment without fail shoild clear the infection.If she doesnt have chest TB then mostly its non infective.There is no restriction to diet,activities.Be careful not to be exposed to infection.If she develops any cough,chest infection see a doctor and get a chest xray.Keep children away in case of chest infection/cough.Just remember that if the medicine is not taken properly and diligently then she may develop resistance.
