What Are The Possible Treatments For Sore And Swollen Anus ?

My 10 year old son has a sore and swollen anus. On one side. The doctor thinks it's a gland. She prescribed a rectal internal analgesic and a cream for thrush and a worming tablet. It happens irregularly the last time was about eight months ago. It's really painful for him. She doesn't think it's an abscess because that would not have gone away on its own. We eat plenty of fibre but he may have got a bit constipated over Christmas when diet was not as well monitored. A previous doctor said he just needs a lot more fibre than other children. What might help to alleviate the problem now?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really understand your worry for your son, his problem could be due to constipation because the hard consistency of stool may causing the trauma of anal region (fissures) although this condition is less likely in this age, you need to give him stool softener "Isabgol" is the best choice, along with this some dry fruits will also be helpful if this does help the condition then he may be needs investigation, take care of child and have good time
