I am pregnant of 7 month. I had an inactive TB , whose 9 month cure will be completed in a week ( final scanning will be done after child s birth. In blood tests, I am found IgG and IgM (immunity) deficient. What are the possible effects on baby of this efficiency ? Is there any treatment of such deficiency? are there any effects on TB cure?

Hi..after reading your case if I would be your doctor then I would suggest you HIV testing... AIDS is responsible for decreased levels of IgG & igM & it is some time associated with tuberculosis.. It has no direct effect on baby but it can cause increased chances of various infection which leads to preterm labour.. If it is so then treatment with anti retroviral medicine will definitely help the condition.. Yes .. Low levels of IgG & igM leads to recurrence & flaring up of tuberculosis..
