Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are Recurring Dizziness, Back Pain, Hot Flashes And Pain In Sternum Suggestive Of?
I have a combination of symptoms that have come and gone over the course of the afternoon and evening Dizziness all afternoon back pain on the left side this evening pain on left side when I breathed deeply earlier in the evening, but that has gone away sudden feeling of being hot that comes and goes - lasts a few minutes only pressure/pain in my sternum and diaphragm after eating that lasted maybe 5 minutes, and then went away sternum area still mildly uncomfortable unsure whether to seek medical attention this evening or wait till morning since symptoms come and go
These symptoms can be due to GERD or gastric reflux but the possibility of heart related issues should be ruled out. A baseline EKG and echocardiogram should be done to rule out any cardiac issue. A thyroid profile may also be needed. Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen along with antacids like omerperazole before meals as well as motility agents like domperidone can be used. If any cardiac issue is suspected, indoor management and further work up might be needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
