General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that there might be some extravasation of blood in surrounding tissues due to counter puncture.
Now there might be thrombophlebitis developed.
Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day.
If pain and swelling increases consult treating doctor and get examined.
A course of antibiotic may require.
Ok and take care.
