Brief Answer:
Bruise management guidelines provided in details .

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear

Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query with attached photograph thoroughly .

* This is likely a bruise following some unnoticed pressure effect over the area .

* Does not sound to be phlebitis .

Kindly provide further details as required

1. Any other bruise over the rest of the body .
2. Any abnormal bleeding noticed from anywhere as in stool or else .
3. Family history of any bleeding disorder .

* Recommendations at present

- Keep the area clean with antiseptic liquid .
- Ice application ( wrapped in thin cloth for 5 minutes session each 4 times a day)
- Apply turmeric paste ( 5 grams of turmeric powder soaked in 10 ml of distilled
water 3 times a day ) , which will help with its anti microbial properties .

- Avoid any direct or indirect pressure over the area .
- Keep the leg elevated over 2 - 3 pillows when resting .
- Avoid tight socks or other clothings .
- Analgesic tylenol ( 500 ) mg 3 times a day after meals .

- Keep watch on its progress or regress .
- Consult as follow up after 48 hrs or early as required .

Wishing you fine recovery .
Regards dear take care .
