Hello ma'am and welcome.

The fact that the bruise is lightning up is a sign of blood supply helping with healing and the dissolution of a possible clot in the region, which is normal after injuries. This hard area is the clot (also called haematoma), this might take time to resolve, but if it takes more time than usual or causing pain, a minor procedure to drain the haematoma can be performed. Please speak to your doctor regarding the option.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
