Urge To Have Bowel Movement, Blood Along With Mucus. What Is The Cure?

My wifes symptoms are urges to have bowel movement and only small amount of clear mucus comes out. At first there was very small amount of blood in mucus, after a couple days the blood is no longer there, but still signs of light brown mucus. She also is having bowel movements, but continues her urges to go and tiny bits of light brown mucus still come out.

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
I would come up with these possibilities , these includes.
1 Ulcerative colitis , diagnosis can be confirmed by M R I and physical examination as well after clinical history.Stool examination play an important role .
2 Carcinoma of large intestine as you described initially there was blood along mucus.Diagnosis can be confirmed colonoscopy .
3 Amoebic colitis , diagnosis can be confirmed by stool examination and physical examination.
In my opinion consult a gastroenterologist and get his opinion as this is not only a case of simple urge intestinal bowel.
