Uncontrollable High BP. No Improvement By Changing Medication To Physiotens And Hygroton From Avaoro. History Of 5th Stage Renal Failure Due To Hypertension, Partially Blocked Arteries. Suggest Proper Medication

Hello
My father is 72 and is in 5th stage Renal failure due to hypertension. He also has heart issues, partially blocked arteries. His GFR is now 10 is is still feeling okay. For the last three weeks he has had up controllable high blood pressure and has had his meds changed which doesn't appear to be helping. He sometimes wears a nitrate patch When it gets too high. 180-190/90 he also has the reverse type of hypertension in that when he stands the pressure is lower. His meds are physiotens and Hygroton. He was on Avapro before. Are these the best hypertension meds for someone who has renal failure? Thanks

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Cardiologist and/or nephrologist are the two specialists to treat the blood pressure / The problem in proper control is from advanced renal failure and the nephrologist is a better choice.
The medicine is alright / Control is difficult but not impossible / frequent check up is necessary - the doses and drugs may have to altered
He should be managed by kidney specialist only

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
