Unbearable Sharp Abdominal Pain During Periods, Had Not Experienced It Before. Cause?
I am 26 years old and have a 9 month old daughter. I am on day 5 of my period but the pain this time is unmanageable. I have a very sharp pinching feeling in my lower left abdomen . I am not sure what this could be as I have never felt something like this before. I am 5 7 and 185lbs. I also have one other daughter that is 8 years old.
The reasons for the pain may be due to endometriosis or abnormal growth of the uterine lining in places other that uterus. Ovarian cysts also cause sharp pain but they also cause irregular periods most of the times. Fibroids are non cancerous uterine tumors that produce pain. But they also mostly cause heavy periods.
Other reasons for the pain may be due to other organs like intestinal cramps, urinary stones or infection.
So as of now, drink plenty of water to flush out the stones if any. If the pain does not decrease you will have to see your doctor to look for the cause. Hope this satisfies your query.
