Hello and welcome to HCM,
I do understand your concern regarding
mouth breathing and nose block and it is understood that you have
snoring and probably not sleep apnoea.
Sleep apnoea is different from snoring, in sleep apnoea you will have demonstrable episode of cessation or stoppage of breathing which has not been described by you.
Your girlfriend probably hears you snoring loudly and thats your problem
In any case you need to do the following by which we can treat and diagnose whether you have sleep apnoea or just snoring due to nose block:
1. Get a study called the
polysomnography or the sleep study which will differentiate whether your sleep problem is central or due to ENT and other treatable causes. Get back to me or any ENT with the reports
2. Get a nasal
endoscopy done along with CT of the nose and
sinuses and get back to me or any ENT with the reports
3. Keep your weight under control and do regular steam inhalation especially before you go to bed
Your further treatment will depend on the reports of the above tests
take care
regards
