Type 2 Diabetic, Wants Baby, Chances Of Complication?

hi im jen..im 34 and my boyfriend is 53 yrs old diabetic type 2..unfortunately until now we dont have intimate moment because i think of hes sickness but we want to have our baby..any advise is we have chances of having a child,,by the way hes 5 yrs diabetic already...hope somebody will reply on me ..thanks in advance...

ELDERLY DIABETES PATIENT WHO WANTS TO CONCIEVE WILL ALWAYS HAVE HIGH RISK OF COMPLICATIONS.
1. THE CHANCES OF CONCEPTION WILL DEPEND ON THE PHYSICAL AND HEALTH STATUS OF INDIVDUALS. IF THE OVULATORY CYCLES ARE REGULAR THERE ARE CERTAIN CHANCES.

THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS ARE NEEDED.
1. PRECONCEPTION WEIGHT IS VERY IMPORTANT. MAINTAIN PROPER WEIGHT.
2. THE GLYCEMIC CONTROL SHOULD BE OPTIMAL WITH HBA1C
3. GET YOUR BOY FRIEND'S SEMEN ANALYSIS DONE.
4. IF YOU ARE HAVING HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND TAKING MEDICINES FOR THE SAME. PLEASE REVIEW IT AND NEEDS CERTAIN CHANGES.

After going through your history, I don't find any reason for why you can't have a child. But, I advice regular checkups starting from the beginning.

diabetes is controlable , have a routiene checkup once in a month and moniter blood glucose levels. dont panic yourself , just change his lifestyle according to your diabetologist's opinion. minor lifestyle changes such as simple workouts, excercises , yoga can make a major difference. i also suggest you both to have a counselling session before having a baby to prepare mentally and to clear your unnecessary doubts. have a healthy and joyful life
