Trying To Conceive, Had Cramps With Slimy Discharge, Tests Negative, Ovulation Test Positive. Is It Normal ?

hi...so Im trying to conceive and I have been using a mobile phone app to track my cycle for over 6 months now...a typical cycle for me is 40-45 days...I have only been trying for a couple months now but I am on day 10 of my cycle and had cramps yesterday with the eggwhite slime so I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I took an ovulation test and it came up positive...is this normal? Per my last visit to my gyno last month, he says if my cycle is that far apart I should ovulate 14 days prior to my cycle length, which by my calculations is day 26 roughly...2 weeks later than today. I have heard the egg this early could mean its not good or Im making less eggs etc...is this true? I am 32, have 1 child who is 3 1/2 and with her it took me 5 yrs to get pregnant for the same reason Im guessing, however my boyfriend and I do have sex a lot more than we did before the 1st child...(I used to go 3-4 months sometimes with no period before I got pregnant).

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
It is true that usually ovulation occurs 14 days before expected date.
However biology is full of diversity & rarely ovulation can occur at any day.
If you are trying for conception it is better to go for follicular study instead of using ovulation kit.
During follicular study it can be detected whether ovum is growing properly or not.
I hope your query has been answered. I will be available for your further queries.
