Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hey there,
All three drugs that you have been on can cause withdrawal symptoms. A slow taper is what's usually done to reduce the risk of these symptoms but it does not prevent them. Yes, Zanax belongs to a class of drugs that is notoriously known for withdrawal symptoms. The withdrawal symptoms usually last few days-weeks but few symptoms have been seen even after an year of discontinuation.

Management of your problem will depend on the symptoms you are experiencing and a qualified psychiatrist can help you ease the symptoms. There are various alternatives to control them.

Not going back on these drugs is a good decision that you have taken. Kindly visit a psychiatrist at the earliest.

Hope this helps,
Dr Anjana Rao
