Treatment For Strep Throat And Shingles

I have had a headache, fever, sore throat with white dots on boths sides, swollen glands, chills and my skin is sensitive to touch. I was tested for strep throat and the culture was negative. I have been exposed to shingles twice, could this be what is causing the problem?

Hello,

Present condition looks like a acute viral pharyngitis. So use salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

Use tablet amoxicillin and clavulinic acid 625mg twice a day for five days. Present situation may be not due to shingles in which rash will be there.

If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
