Taking Simvastatin, Valsartan For BP, Cholesterol Problem, Noticing Dark Black Stools. What Is The Reason?

I am having problems now that I did not have before. I have been switched to a new blood pressure medication and cholesterol medication (Simvastatin and Valsartan). I am noticing dark almost black stools recently that have never occurred before. I know that these symptoms are not good.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

This may not be related to the two drugs!
Black stool means occult blood or iron supplement
See your Internist / get yourself examined / basic investigation – like blood count and stool analysis - may be necessary...
The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.

Good luck
Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
