Taking Levothyroxine For Hypothyroidism. Bleeding, Migraine, Panic Attack After Having Nexplanon Implant. Related?

I am on levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. A little over a month ago i got the Nexplanon implant put in. I had a 15 day period last month and it hasnt even been a week since i stopped and im already having heavy bleeding again. Ive also been having horrible migraines and panic attacks. The dr told me this was related to the hypothyroidism and not the birth control. My question is, can this be related? Can the levothyroxine interfere with the nexplanon making me have another period?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..
Irregular periods can be because of hypothyroidism...
Nexplanon implants may also cause irregular bleeding patterns in the initial 3-4 months.. but in your case you have to get your thyroid levels checked up and adjust the dose of levothyroxine accordingly..
There has not been any evidence of drug interaction between levothyroxin and nexplanon..
Hope I helped with my answer.. Will be available for further queries..take care..
