Hi. I am katie. I had a bad cold virus about a month ago it left one of my tonsils swollen. The tonsil didnt hurt just stayed swollen but today both my tonsils are swollen and hurt bad. I have an existing problem with my jaw that i havent taken care of due to lack of money. I have a bad over bite and my jaw constantly grinds cland pops/ cracks when evet i open and close it.
My whole face feels super swollen and im wondering if it would he from my jaw or tonsils because it started today as well. I took advil but so far no relief from swelling just pain.i plan to see a dr tomorrow but i jist need a peace of mind so i dont hage a panic attack :( am i ok? Could i have a blood infection from going so long with a swollen tonsil? Thankyou

Hello friend,
With the limited information, your case of swollen tonsils can be taken as a simple tonsillitis. Your age is not given in the question. Still to rule out other possibilities of infectious mononucleosis due to Epstein-Barr virus, investigations are required. This is common in an adolescent or younger child with acute tonsillitis, particularly when it is accompanied by tender cervical, axillary, and/or inguinal nodes; splenomegaly; severe lethargy and malaise; and low-grade fever. Another rare possibility is herpes simplex virus pharyngitis. This can also be presented with red, swollen tonsils with aphthous ulcers on their surfaces. In that case other findings like Herpetic gingival stomatitis, herpes labialis, and hypopharyngeal and epiglottic lesions can also be observed.

Some other rare possibilities are Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Leukemias, Lymphomas of the Head and Neck, Malignant Nasopharyngeal Tumors, Malignant Tumors of the Tonsils etc.

Your jaw problems are also to be considered before making the final diagnosis.

Your question makes me to understand that you are too much worried about your conditions.

As a Homoeopath, my advise is to approach an expert Homoeopath who will not only diagnose your physical conditions, making use of the investigations necessary, but also will consider your present mental conditions to select your curative remedy. Your individual constitution is very important for the selection of the curative Homoeopathic remedy. Homoeopathy can cure your present condition and also it can further prevent such occurrences in future, because Homoeopathy does not treat the diseases but treat the patient as an individual.
With best wishes for a speedy cure through Homoeopathy,
