Swelling In Caruncle Of Left Eye, Unable To Close Eye Completely On Side. Any Ideas?

The caruncle in my left eye is swollen. It doesn't really bother me and it's not huge but there is a significant difference compared to the right side. Also, it is large enough that my eye doesn't close completely in that corner. Do you have any idea what causes this? And what can I do to fix it? It has been this way for a long time.

Hello,
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic. Carbuncle is nothing but a skin infection. Usually caused by Staphylococcus Or Streptococcus bacteria. It contain fluid, pus and white blood cells. Poor hygienic condition is one of well known risk factor for carbuncle. As it is near eye, Antibiotics can be used to cure. Cephalexin 500 mg twice daily for one week is sufficient. Please avoid squeezing as it may result in scarring. Gently wash the face and wye with warm water.

Take care
