Suspected Of Femoral Hernia. Lymph Nodes Were Removed. Have Very Painful Lump On Both Sides Of The Incision. What Does This Mean?

I had surgery a week ago for a suspected Femoral Hernia. Lymph nodes were removed and I still have a drain in as well. I have a HUGE and very painful lump on both sides of the incision. On one side it is very long and run length wise. The one on the opposite side is round and big. Is this normal? I am in more pain a week post surgery than I was.

Hello,

It seems like late complication of surgery.
There have be hematoma formation.( collection of blood at the site of injury).
The drains are still in place but swelling as formed means that the drains may be blocked.
There may be infection in the area following hematoma.
Anyway it needed medical intervention.
Consult your surgeon who may be the best person to help you.
