Hallow Madam,
If you are pregnant, early
pregnancy may be terminated by medicines.
Pregnancy up to 9 weeks can very safely be terminated by medicines - Tablets of Mifepristone and
Misoprostol jointly. These are not over the counter medicines and need to be taken by Obstetrician's prescription only. Usually after taking these medicines, within 24 to 72 hours the termination is completed. However, if they fail, it has to be terminated by surgical evacuation of the
uterus.
A follow up visit to Obstetrician after 7 days is advised. If the bleeding continues or even if there is no bleeding at all, should be reported to the Obstetrician immediately.
Once the medicines are consumed, you should not change the decision to continuation of pregnancy. These medicines may cause abnormalities in baby. Therefore, if the medicines fail, get the
abortion completed by surgical abortion.
Whichever method you choose, medical or surgical, should be by your Obstetrician's advise only.
I hope this is sufficient guidance in this issue.
