Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain And Bloody Mucous While Suffering From IBS
Last night I had a bad time with the runs,gas and bloating. Since 5am today I have had bloody mucus and pain. I have been told that I have IBS and pockets in my large bowels. Have not eaten anything to day and still have pain and bloody mucus around every 30 min. Being that it is Sunday and my doctor is not in, can I wait till tomorrow or should I go to the ER.

My opinion-
In the given situation-You seem to suffer from-IBS with acute Colitis with blood mucus.
The severe inflammation of colon and intestines has lead to shedding of mucus membranes at places with ulcerations-from food induced infection inciting this acute IBS attack with dysentry.
Other causes like anal piles and fissure with proctitis needs to be ruled out
Do's suggested-
Bland liquid diet with rice / potato porridge x for 1 week.
Plenty of fluids.
Antibiotics with anti-amebic/ with Anti-spasmodic with Multivitamines with minerals like magnesium,zinc etc with Vit D3 / with Calcium with Vit B12/ Folic acid needs to be given for 2-weeks time to recoupe the sever IBS with dysentry with it.
Sporlac ds Tabs/ Yoghurt/ Butter milk- for 3 -4 weeks to stabilize Colonic mucosa with healing of Colonic Ulcerations.
this would give long remissions from recurring IBS With blood / mucus in stools.
GI specialist / with General Surgeon would be needed to tackle these health issues.
You should attend by tomorrow,if you can sustain with bland diet and anti-spasmodics with antibiotics from your family physician.
Consults with GI specialist and nutritionist, would be needed to treat these health issues.
Other causes like Crohn's disease/ Ulcerative Colitis/ and Diverticulosis/ Polyposis Coli -needs to be ruled out by physical / and lab check ups from Specialist GI endoscopist and GI Surgeon.
Further suggestions in this regard would need ore information /investigations after getting more details from You.
