Suggest Treatment For Severe Headaches Post Menstrual Bleeding

Hi Doctor, My wife experiences strange and strong headache after her monthly periods. We visited a clinic but nothing was got after the blood samples were subjected to test. She was given Vitamin B12. This problem still continues, what could be your advise and probably a solution to this? I need your help.

Hello,

There are cases of migraine headaches that are related to the menstrual cycle. The fact that the headaches in the case of your wife have a periodic nature and closely related to her periods increases the chance that she is having migraines.

There are specific treatments for migraine such as Sumatriptan which should be taken as soon as she feels the headache is starting (delay of taking the treatment decreases its effectiveness).

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
