What Causes Severe Headaches?

I am having severe frontal/over the top of my head headaches. My blood pressure was 144/84 this morning. My normal BP used to be about 124/72 plus or minus 3-4 points. It s been up and down recently. I am currently being treated for compressed cervical discs. Do the headaches relate more to the treatment or the bp? Thanks.

Hello dear,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
Your blood pressure is not in the hypertensive range. If it was 144/84 mm hg transiently it does not make you hypertensive.Though, high BP can cause headache but 144/84 is not that high to cause headache.Compressed cervical discs can cause neck pain which can radiate to head also.Alternatively,it can be stress headache or migraine. Please discuss with your physician with proper history details of headache,so that he makes a proper diagnosis and ensures treatment.Hope it helps.
